Sylvia Benito & Eli Rechtschaffen

The Unwavering Heart

Plant medicines have been part of our human journey since the beginning, playing an increasingly prominent role in awakening consciousness today. This renaissance reflects our desire to accelerate human potential in these turbulent times and contribute to a healthier and happier world. The proper use of these powerful medicines requires us to hold them in sacred ways, honoring lineages and integrating them with modern psychological modalities.

In this retreat, we invite you to experience the marriage of plant medicine and mindfulness with a team that has been weaving this vision for many years. In this debut offering, our team will apply the training received over nearly a decade with our teacher, Taita Juanito, in the yage tradition, offered with psilocybin within a framework of meditation and mindfulness. Our teacher himself sees the need to weave these paths together, and it is our honor to bring this vision to a retreat setting. During this week, we will deepen into the stillness of the heart through a series of experiences.

You will undergo two healings with sacred offerings of psilocybin, as well as other healing modalities, including herbal steam baths, meditation, yoga, breathwork, dance, and a sweat lodge. Expect a week of rest and self-exploration that will help refine your vision for your life purpose and support you in living at your fullest potential.

Sylvia Benito

Medicine Woman & Psilocybin Therapist

Sylvia Benito began her career as an aspiring healer, studying for a decade with shamanic and yogic masters. Driven by a desire for spiritual awakening, she explored everything from tantra to long silent retreats to plant medicine ceremonies – all in search of ultimate truths. After a decade of searching, during a prolonged yogic journey to India, Sylvia discovered a deep union with awakened consciousness itself and realized love as foundational. With this taste of enlightenment, she saw the need to change the “enlightenment narrative” in the modern era.

Upon her return from India, she decided to learn to manage investments and became a Chartered Financial Analyst, hoping to bridge the world of consciousness and capital. Today calls for ’embodied awakening.’ We are no longer in the era when “enlightened” beings sit in caves, far from society, abstaining from life’s pleasures. This is a time of duality and integration when a mystic can also be a money manager, and a spiritual aspirant can choose both a boardroom and a temple.

Eli Rechtschaffen

Medicine-man, Shaman, and Guide

Eli was born in upstate New York and has felt a strong connection with the spirits of nature since a young age. In his journey, he found that the paths of meditation and shamanism provided him with the most supportive awakening tools. Eli is a long-time practitioner of meditation, studying in many lineages and spending intensive time in retreats and in silence. He has also frequented the Amazon jungle, studying medical plant medicines under the tutelage of the Ingano tribe. Eli is the founder of The Nature Within and leads medicine retreats in Costa Rica with the Taita Chindoy family. His life intention is to bring these sacred healing tools to all beings to support collective awakening.
