Writing Your Life, Writing to Heal

A restorative weeklong memoir writing and restorative yoga retreat for healing mind, body and spirit. Each day will included guided writing workshops, restorative yoga, mindful movement and nature walks. There will also be down time to stroll the expansive beach, swim in the infinity pool, and engage in optional off-site activities. During six days, you will nourish your creative spirit, relax your mind and body, rest and reconnect to yourself.

Zita Arocha is a bilingual author, journalist, and educator who lives in Southern New Mexico near the U.S.-Mexico border. She has written extensively about immigration and Latino issues for national news outlets and taught multimedia journalism for nearly 20 years at the University of Texas at El Paso. For the last two years, she has taught a memoir workshop for the Center for Mexican American and Border Studies at the University of Texas at Austin. Inlandia Institute published her award-winning memoir, “Guajira, the Cuba Girl,” in 2024. She has an MFA in bilingual creative writing from UTEP.

 

Lorelei is a yoga therapist and environmental scientist dedicated to personal, collective, and environmental healing. With certifications in yoga therapy, trauma-sensitive yoga, and breath coaching, Lorelei’s yoga classes and private therapy sessions are focused on healing through yoga and building a strong mind-body connection.
