Deborah Sandella PhD, MSN
Deborah Sandella PhD, MSN will be teaching during Wisdom & Wellbeing Multi-Faculty Week 5: Trauma, Recovery and Somatic Intelligence | February 8 – 15, 2025 at Blue Spirit about the following topic:
This class is an introduction to Dr. Deb Sandella’s Theory of Emotional Physics™ and its clinical application, Regenerating Images in Memory (RIM®) Method. An innovative psychotherapeutic process, RIM collaborates with raw emotion rather than trying to control, problem-solve or calm it. Body awareness and spontaneous imagination organically evoke the root cause. Recent University of Colorado research has found that RIM produces psychedelic-like results without drugs.
Dr. Deb Sandella has been evolving RIM over the last 30 years after a personal experience changed her life and refocused her professional direction. She’s discovered that each of us has a natural emotional operating system (EOS) that inherently knows how to boost positive feelings and dissolve negative ones. Each of us needs to know how to activate our EOS similar to an emotional self-cleaning oven that makes life easier, yet we need to understand how to turn it on. Bestselling author and physician Larry Dossey describes it as, “… a practical, down-to-earth method of realizing the immense potential that lives within everyone.”
Dr. Sandella’s focus is teaching and researching RIM because , “It’s too important to go to the grave with her, like a 3rd child, a daughter who needs an autonomous life with her own mission to wake up the world to the amazing inherent emotional abilities within each of us to heal ourselves and others more quickly and effectively than thought possible. Einstein knew the Theory of Relativity instantly when he imagined flying across the Universe on a thunderbolt, yet it took him 13 years to prove it. Similarly, RIM works fast yet it’s taking years to prove.
As someone who is all about connection, Deborah’s style with a group is casual, friendly and interactive while holding an important balance between experience and science. She’s been unlocking her own intuitive mind for years, and now she shares a technique that does just that…

More About Dr. Deborah
Deborah Sandella PhD, MSN is author of the Bestseller Goodbye, Hurt & Pain and co-author of Your Kaleidoscope Mind (2025). She has been an award-winning psychotherapist, university professor, and the originator of Emotional Physics and the groundbreaking Regenerating Images in Memory (RIM®) Method, which is a heavily-backed neuroscience tool proven to reduce stress and improve quality of life. Recent research has found it to produce psychedelic therapy-like outcomes without drugs.
Innovation isn’t new to Dr. Deb (as her students call her). She’s been producing results beyond expectation since her career began in the early 70s; when she designed and implemented two creative community mental health programs to hospitalize psychiatric clients locally rather than shipping them to the state hospital. Leading her multidisciplinary team of psychiatrist, psychologist, social worker and psychiatric nurse specialist, they transformed medical hospital beds into acute psychiatric ones. Families and nursing staff were involved in the treatment and the program was extremely successful. Average length of inpatient stays dropped dramatically from 3-4 weeks to 3-4 days and clients reintegrated seamlessly to home and work.
Dr. Deb has been in the media—such as USA TODAY, CBS, CNN, NBC, Public Radio, SELF and SHAPE. Learn more about RIM Facilitator trainings and personal growth programs at RIMinstitute.com
