Wisdom & Wellbeing Week 1 Intensive with Krishna Das & Nina Rao

The Heart of the Path with Krishna Das and Nina Rao

A week-long retreat of chant, workshops, discussions, and music with Krishna Das and Nina Rao.

This retreat is a wonderful opportunity to immerse in the practice of chant in all its forms – call-and-response kirtan, chanting of long-form prayers to the goddess, the Hanuman Chalisa and more, as well as practice of japa or veda mantra recitation. In addition, we have the opportunity to sit with Krishna Das as he offers an open forum for Q&A and discussions of whatever might be on your mind! Many have found great solace in just hanging out together and sharing in our intentions, challenges, and doubts.

More About Your Week

In addition, Krishna Das and Nina will be accompanied by Arjun Bruggeman on tabla, who has been playing with them for almost two decades. Arjun will offer his own ‘rhythmic sound and mantra’ journey – an immersive sound journey where rhythm and mantra become the bridge between the outer world and the vast, uncharted depths of the inner self. Through the primal power of percussive instruments—frame drum, tabla, kalimba and hang drum—we create a pulsing, textured soundscape that gently dissolves the surface noise of the mind, guiding you into a deep state of presence and release.

Krishna Das' Bio

Krishna Das has been touring and singing with people all around the world for over three decades and has enchanted the hearts of the people with whom he sings, shares stories, of his life Path, and most essentially shares his deep devotion for this guru Neem Karoli Baba. Experiencing the interconnectedness of all beings shines through when we practice together as seekers of true Happiness…seekers of the eternal Truth – Sub Ek – All One as Maharajji Neem Karoli Baba said so clearly all those years when a bunch of hippies in search of God found whatever way they could to get to the sacred land of India. It’s been over 40 years since, and in the chanting and remembering, the Guru’s presence is felt everywhere.  We find our way back to our own hearts, where the Guru lives, looking out of our eyes… at us. Bhakti or devotion to Love is the Heart of the Path.

Nina Rao's Bio

Nina met Krishna Das at a yoga retreat in New York in 1996 and her life changed completely in the rediscovery of chanting which she had experienced as a child. Sri Siddhi Ma was Maharajji-s very close disciple and took care of Him for 40 years. After He left the body in 1973, She held the Love that everyone felt in His presence. Nina met Ma in 1998, and for 19 years until Ma left the body, Nina went to visit Ma, and her connection has continued to grow. While Nina tours with Krishna Das regularly, her own chant practice has developed into a form personal to her. Rooted in her Indian tradition by birth, and shaped by her adult life in the US while learning from spiritual elders and teachers from many traditions, her chant practice is grounded in sacred stories, rituals, and her time with her Guru.
