Vaccine Requirements in Costa Rica starting January 2022

Costa Rica’s statement of making complete vaccination a requirement for all hotel and lodging guests starting in December 2021 has been delayed starting January 2022. Blue Spirit therefore will accept guests with complete vaccination or negative test within 48 hours of arrival through December 2021. Starting January 1, 2022, following the official guidelines, all our guests must be fully vaccinated and show proof of it.

COVID-19 PROTOCOLS At Blue Spirit

Wellbeing is at the heart of Blue Spirit’s core values. In order to provide guests and staff with the confidence and assurance that their health and safety is our top priority, we are updating our protocols every week, so that any significant changes due to the spread of Covid-19 and its variants are being taken into account.

We will have everything at Blue Spirit that one should need – including the beach and natural environment to assure a restful, replenishing and healthy stay with us.

We also offer easy onsite Covid-testing, facilitated by the staff of a local medical clinic, to meet the re-entry requirements of your home country. More below.

Before Your Arrival

• Starting on October 16, 2021, Blue Spirit requires that each guest either shows a negative Covid test (Laboratory Certified Antigen or PCR test, no older than 48 hours) or proof of having received full Covid vaccination, at least 15 days prior to arrival.
Starting January 1, 2022, following the official guidelines, all our guests must be fully vaccinated and show proof of it.

How we protect You during Your Transfer from/to the airport and Blue Spirit

• Shuttle and taxi services capacity is reduced to guarantee social distancing among passengers. All vehicles are sanitized before and after use. All our drivers are vaccinated. Private taxis are available upon advanced request.
• Your luggage is sanitized before loading it to your shuttle or private taxi from the airport, and for your convenience, upon arrival our helpful staff will assist in carrying it to the main lobby and place it in your room after registration.

Your Arrival and Check-In

• We offer online and contactless check-in. You receive your login information 72-hour prior arrival date. Should you prefer contactless service during your stay as well, you can use our intranet for information about our offered service, general questions and information, our helpful receptionists are also available via online chat.
• If you do the check-in traditionally after arrival, we have appropriate spacing in the check-in hall. Our receptionists are separated with a protective glass barrier.

During your Stay

• Social distancing measures are embedded in all services for guest protection, including appropriate spacing during check-in, in dining, buffet line, café and classroom areas.
• Blue Spirit requires the wearing of face masks for guests in all public and common areas on the premises.
• All of our staff and wellness-therapists are fully vaccinated and wear protective masks and other equipment. Daily temperature check-ups of all staff, including wellness-therapists, prior to working.
• Enhanced food safety and hygiene protocols for dining – including glass barrier at buffet line to allow staff server with mask and glove to plate food choices.
• In the dining hall, a fixed placement of tables and the number of chairs for each table ensures the proper distance and spacing.
• Increased frequency of cleaning with hospital-grade disinfectants on all high-touch surfaces and areas such as guest rooms, dining area, common spaces, classrooms, restrooms, etc.
• Prominent placement of hand sanitizer stations throughout public and employee areas; additional hand-wash stations have been installed in the reception hall and before entering the classrooms.

Additionally

• We encourage single occupancy, except for couples or known friend or family member.
• We recommend to bring your own yoga mat & yoga blanket. If you use our mats, your spot and mat will be marked with your name and only you will use that mat and props during your stay.
• No outside visitors will be allowed on premises to assure a safe and hermetic environment.
• Unvaccinated guests are asked to not leave Blue Spirit’s premises or Blue Spirit beach during their stay, in order to minimize contact with the outside community where the likelihood of contracting Covid is greater. This way we can assure that all of our guests and staff are creating and maintaining a ’safe Covid bubble’.
• Our Longevity Center offers specialized immune booster programs for your stay, if desired.

Re-entry Requirements for your Return Home

The US and many other countries require that returning travelers show a negative Covid test before re-entry (within 3 day of arrival in US). To make this process easy for you, Blue Spirit is offering to all guests an onsite COVID test on Wednesday of each week – with results within 24-48 hours – thus prior to flights back on Friday or Saturday. The tests are facilitated by the staff of a local medical clinic and Costa Rican laboratory, so that you can rest assured that you are meeting all the requirements for your travel back home. We are expecting the cost to be around US$70.-
